Conference Dinner Debate: “This House Believes Old Age Psychiatry Is the Natural Home for Managing Dementia”

Join us for an evening of lively debate, sharp wit, and good-humoured clinical controversy at the

RANZCP Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age Annual Conference Dinner.

In a playful role reversal, an old age psychiatrist will argue that dementia care belongs firmly in the hands of geriatricians, while a geriatrician

takes the podium to make the case that dementia is, in fact, the natural home of old age psychiatry.

Expect spirited arguments, entertaining banter, and thoughtful discussion as our speakers tackle one of the most enduring questions in contemporary dementia care. Beyond the friendly rivalry, the debate will highlight the importance of collaboration between specialties in delivering the best outcomes for people living with dementia and their families.

Whether you come for the intellectual sparring, the camaraderie, or simply an enjoyable evening overlooking the Cairns waterfront, this promises to be a memorable highlight of the conference.
